Chilli Pequin

Capsicum annuum 'Pequin'

Short lived perennial – two to three years in mild climates. Prolific bearer of birdseye fruit. Very ornamental bush with green purple and red fruit.

Growing Tips: Plant in a protected spot out of fierce sunlight and wind in a well drained but moist soil. May need some support when it ages.

Position: Part to Full Sun

Height: 85cm Width: 70cm

Lifespan: Perennial

Use: This very hot chilli from Mexico is for the “Macho Macho Man”. It has a sweet smoky flavor with citrus, corn and nutty overtones. Popular in Tex-Mex cuisines. 

Harvest: Approximately 8-12 weeks
