Salvia Uliginosa - Bog Sage

HAT COLOUR: Blue

SPECIAL QUALITIES: Despite its common name Bog Sage is a versatile plant that will grow in many soil types. It is easy care and a useful filler.

FLOWERS: The sky blue flowers form in spikes on long stems and appear from late spring to autumn

PLANTS NEEDED PER SQUARE METRE: Two to Three
 

HABIT: A perennial plant that throws attractive blue flower spikes on long thin stems. 
 

POSITION & USES: Grows best in a sunny position in a wide range of soil types. In spite of its name Bog Sage will tolerate considerable heat and dryness but will appreciate watering in hot, dry weather. Use at the back of a perennial border or with medium growing shrubs

CULTIVATION: Easy to grow. Prune the plant to just above the ground when flowering finishes.

FERTILISING: Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed will keep it looking its best.
