SPECIAL QUALITIES: Masses of intense red- mahogany leaves contrast with bright pink flowers. An easy to grow ground cover that thrives in poor soils and hot conditions. It will survive irregular watering which makes it suited to hanging baskets
FLOWERS: Bright rose coloured flowers from early summer to early autumn.
PLANTS NEEDED PER SQUARE METRE: 6-7
HABIT: A nearly prostrate, semi deciduous, spreading ground cover
POSITION & USES: An open, sunny position in poor to average garden soil. Suited to the edge of beds, along paths, in pots or baskets
CULTIVATION: Make sure that the soil is well drained by adding grit if necessary. Water at planting time but infrequently afterwards. Trim runners at the end of winter to tidy the plant if necessary.
FERTILISING: Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed will keep it looking its best.
