Silverbeet Fordhook Giant

Beta vulgaris 'Fordhook Giant'

A popular variety of silver beet that is grown for its full flavoured, crinkled dark green leaves and contrasting white stalks. Easy and quick growing producing ample crop.

Growing Tips: Plant in sunny position in well drained but moist soil. Also suited to large pots.

Position: Full sun

Height: 60cm Width: 30cm

Lifespan: Annual

Use: Like all leafy vegetables it is high in iron. Best lightly steamed and served with butter and herbs as side dish to roast meat or vegetable lasagna.

Harvest: Harvest young leaves regularly and remove flower stems as they appear. The more you harvest the better it produces.
